Remember!

"Wait me one moment, please!"

One of the most common grammatical mistakes I hear when I speak to English learners is when they forget to use the preposition, "for" in the phrase "wait for me."

Whether I'm on the phone with a banker who is trying to put me "on hold" for a moment while they look up my account details, or making a plan with a friend, almost all of them will mistakenly say "wait me."

It's a harmless mistake that can often sound quite cute (I always giggled when my friends said it). But, it's also one you can easily correct.

So remember guys, don't forget the "for" in "wait for me"!
